The Good – The Evil Empire

As much as they get on everyone’s nerves (myself included), there is no denying the dominance of the New England Patriots.

The Patriots stomped the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, walking away with a 30 point victory. Tom Brady was Tom Terrific, as usual, and the Pats’ defense shut down Big Ben and the Steelers’ offense.

Hey Miami, don’t look now, but Tom and the gang come to your house in Week 2. Oh yeah, Antonio Brown will be joining the party as well. Buckle up.

The Bad – The Bears offense against Green Bay’s defense.

I was highly disappointed with the 3 points produced by the Bears offense on opening night. I love defensive games as much as anybody, but the Bears flat out stunk on the offensive side of the ball. Trubisky was inaccurate and hesitant throwing the football. The execution was poor all the way around for Chicago.

Trubisky needs to show improvement soon, or he’ll be on the hot seat before you know it. The running game needs to get going too. Moving forward, I’m sure we’ll see different results from this offense.

Respect to Green Bay’s defense though. If they can stay healthy, I think they’ll be an elite defensive unit throughout the season.

The Ugly – The Miami Dolphins… buddy..

I don’t know what the hell was going on with the Dolphins. Can anybody tell me why Ryan Fitzpatrick threw an Out-route to Devante Parker on the first offensive play of the game, when Parker was clearly BLOCKING?!

I understand trying to lose on purpose by putting subpar (or young) players on the field, but that performance was miserable.

The Ravens offense got everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, they wanted. The Dolphins gave up 643 total yards on defense! That’s just embarrassing. This team better get some heart in them, or it’s going to be one of the worst seasons we have ever seen.

Underrated Performance of the Week – Sammy Watkins, Wide Receiver, Kansas City Chiefs

9 catches, 198 yards, and 3 touchdowns! With Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye at Cornerback? Turn me up Sammy!
